African Animals' Lullaby
wins JUROR AWARD from Women's Film Festival

What is it like to live in the wilds of Africa?
No Electricity : No Running Water : No Digital Media
Take a poetic safari to East Africa. You will be immersed in authentic sights and sounds of the Kenyan savannah as you follow a young Maasai girl through her day - from the cooing dove that wakes her to the murmuring wildebeests that lull her to sleep. Dreaming of all the sounds she's heard becomes her African Animals' Lullaby.

If you have spent any time in Africa, this video will transport you back. If you haven't, you are in for a treat!

The film brings to life the original poem written by the film’s co-director Jessica Dimuzio, VMD based on her experiences living in a tent in the Kenyan bush - no running water no electronic equipment. Her closest neighbors were a bachelor heard of elephants, three prides of lions, and a few Maasai families. The sounds of the savannah became her music. As she watched little Maasai girls leave their boma to collect firewood and water, she wondered if, like her, they recalled the sounds of the day as they fell asleep.
